Genre: Action Sci-fi
Direction: Marc Webb
Lead: Andrew Garfield
When they reboot an entire series, one expects that it would be a lot better this time. Well, this one failed to make that impact.
Marc Webb, (a good name for a director of Spider-Man, I'll tell you that), has done a very loose job. Also the graphics, especially the Lizard's, were very un-extraordinary. For a movie that invested so much and took such a step should've known that audience will have high expectations this time. But except for the brilliant cinematography which gives you Spidey's literal swinging effect, there was nothing much special in the movie. The trailer made many false promises about the plot which were found nowhere in the movie. It was a totally dull storyline with no gripping twists or turns. Though the start had a good character mapping before the spider-bite, the movie led nowhere unpredictable after that. Everything was too damn predictable. The movie also leaves frequent loopholes and big plot mistakes which fills the movie with a few crappy grades. Given what the movie offered, the movie did not deserve to be that long either.
It was an entertaining watch and Andrew Garfield really tried hard but the actual "Spider-Man" experience seemed to be missing which was there in the earlier series. I mean, I don't like Tobey either but he did a real good job with what he had. There is a sequel coming definitely, let's just hope this gets the name back up again.
One-time entertaining watch.
