WANTED (HOLLYWOOD)

Genre: Action Mystery Thriller
Direction: Timur Bekmambetov
Leads: Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy

A great action-packed adventure with a tinge of super-ability. Not one part of the movie seems an unwanted stretch. James McAvoy has done splendid acting and Angelina certainly showed that women can do incredible stunts without a blink. The movie has got good comedy and drama elements too.

The only down side of the movie is that it has a few loopholes. The Fraternity of Assassins, as they call it, has the ability to fasten their heartbeat rate to extreme levels so as to quicken your responses, thus figuratively, slowing down the time in a sense for you to focus. I can buy that. I will even buy the explanation they gave for the bending of the translation of bullets after they are fired. But that explanation just doesn't fit with the start and the end of the movie where the shot is fired from a gun miles away and the bullet finds its way through the crowd and the buildings. That's a bit too much. And the ending of the movie where McAvoy finally seeks his revenge is just ridicule. Apart from the few loopholes and the ending action sequence, the movie is very entertaining, especially for the action fans.

The part towards the end where the movie flips the story upside down is one of the best brain-twirls in the industry. So, if you want to have a blast of action sequences, I'd say don't wait.
