Genre: Action Sci-Fi
Direction: Joseph Kosinski
Leads: Garett Hedlund, Jeff Bridges
To watch this movie and really get the feel of it, you will need to watch the first part -Tron [1982], starring Jeff Bridges as the main character, which was a good movie for that time. If you watch it today, you won't watch it for more than 5 minutes as the animation used to represent the grid was just crap! The idea was great, even the direction was good, but the world they bring us in, is just not for today's crowd. Even at that time, only kids could see such a movie. So first of all, let me come out and say that Disney took a huge risk to make this sequel. But it was successful indeed.
The concept was implemented in a great way. The story is light, not much stress to the brain and yet still exciting. The costumes might seem a little icky at first but that's the best they could do to bring it up, still keeping the world as it is from the original movie. It was a tough job and they did it splendidly.
It's a video-game movie. So obviously, there are lot of action games. And the lighting, if you are watching in 2D and feel that it is childish, is actually designed for the 3D effect. So if you are going to watch it, watch it in 3D, as that is one of the very few points that will make you like the movie. The storyline is pretty good too, though.
