THE BOURNE IDENTITY

Genre: Action Mystery
Direction: Doug Liman
Lead: Matt Damon

Matt Damon has done a really great job, paid very acute attention to minute details for the character. Brilliant acting; of course he had the detailed character mapping to study from the novel by Robert Ludlum. Direction is excellent, especially the group who planned the action sequences. The movie develops quickly in the hearts of the viewers with the slowly unraveling plot that gives deep feel of every moment and experience that the storyline goes through. It's not a hardcore action movie or a movie with a brain-pumping mystery element that reveals the big twist in the end. It's a light movie with not that unpredictable unwinding of the plot. It's light and enjoyable.

The storyline seems a good way to go as it forms the entire character in the mind first and then starts revealing him in a morally negative role, but you still feel for him. The transition of his heart that turns him good due to an assignment gone wrong, is what the movie is about. Attention needs to be paid while watching or interest might get lost. It's a nice movie and definitely calls out for watching its sequel.
