Genre: Biography Drama History War
Direction: Steven Spielberg
Lead: Liam Neeson
Never since the Godfathers had I seen a drama film so touching. This movie has set a milestone in the industry with the acting and direction at its pinnacle.
First of all, the idea of making it in black and white was very effective. It really takes you back to the era. And then, such marvelous direction in a drama movie? I hardly expected this great pace and depth in the story. But it was wonderful. It will take some time for me to come back to current time now. This movie was designed to be felt! And Liam Neeson was born to play this role!
Liam Neeson has broken all the records of acting, and with a pairing like Ben Kingsley, the duo just took the movie to another level! This movie will literally skip your heartbeats many times through the flow. The storyline has a good enough speed and Spielberg never lets you rest your heart.
Never till now had I felt the depiction of teh World War II so clear. The Nazis versus the Jews, but that's not what the movie is totally about! It's about the transition of a German businessman's mind that gradually develops a softer corner for the Jewish community when circumstances get him involved in which he gets a bit closer to the horrible ruthless slaughtering of the Jews taking place. This movie is about redemption and his way towards it.
A beautiful master-piece! For all those who have deep hearts, this movie is for you.
