THE WARD

Genre: Horror Mystery Thriller
Direction: John Carpenter
Lead: Amber Heard

Let's face it, we only watch an Amber Heard movie to see Amber Heard, not the movie.

The direction is good but the plot is the same old typical horror storyline which makes the entire movie predictable right from the star, except the ending touch which is different from the average horror flicks, but this twist is being by recent horror movies on a large extent. Maybe they have found that it is the only way to make sense of the slow-deaths in the movie to make sense, with a lot of chasing and torture before every killing. Not much heart-stopping thrills and so any ratings. It's got nothing new and so even though it has good direction and sounds and it is watchable, I wouldn't so much as go ahead and recommend it. It's average.

YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA

Genre: Action Comedy Drama
Direction: Samir Karnik
Leads: Sunny Deol, Dharmendra, Bobby Deol

It's hilarious and full of energy. Unlike most of similar movies, this one does not end with a childish chaos where people are flying around with electric shocks or diving off the second floors. Though they did take support of over-acting many times for action, the movie was enjoyable. Good writing and acting is alright compared to others with similar genre that go hit in Bollywood.

So what it does not have a plot, sometimes it's good to just sit back and have some light entertainment. It's a fun ride.
