KING KONG

Genre: Action Adventure Drama Romance Thriller
Direction: Peter Jackson
Leads: Naomi Watts, Adrien Brody, Jack Black

Out of all the King Kong movies, this one was by far the best one as far as the character of Kong is considered. Peter Jackson has really brought life to the animal and its eyes really make you feel what it's feeling. The movie deserves a round of applause for the perfect mixture of the genres. First, it does all the character mapping with dramatic touch. Naomi, of course, was the best lead in the movie. There is just no match for her skills.

Then the movie jumps to the adventure part where they are sailing towards the island and then discovering it. Some horrifying thrills about the natives on the island, which was not needed actually, as they are never again seen throughout the movie. So it seemed to be added up to extend the movie a bit longer and to get the audience to induce into the island.

Later, the action and romance keep rope-jumping between Adrien and Naomi respectively, with Kong entering both parts of the fields. The action part of the movie did seem like a stretch though as they seem to keep bumping into one or the other creature continuously, and each action sequence once started kept going on for a long time. So if there weren't so many similar sequences throughout and if they weren't stretched for so long each time, the movie would have been just perfect. So, the length of the movie was the only down side here. But all in all, the movie was great. Outstanding direction and acting!

HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE

Genre: Adventure Fantasy Mystery Thriller
Direction: Mike Newell
Leads: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint

The kids have grown indeed!

The series has stepped up to the teenagers now, though the childish content has not reduced. They have tried to capture more wider audience and the effort has succeeded to much extent. The previous movies were just adventure, but now the feelings have been added -drama as well as romance. Though it gets boring at times as that's not what's expected from this series. People watch it to be marveled at the effects and to unravel this magical world more and more. But there is a long time slot in the movie before interval which disappointed me. It feels like a long stretch when nothing is happening, especially the dancing and the build-up done for it. But the ending is worth all that. A great twist that you would not have expected shocks the audience at the end, when all the puzzles fit together.

The special effects have improved tremendously, the acting not so much. After three movies of build-up about Voldemort, he finally returns and now we have a lead on the series!

WAITING...

Genre: Comedy
Directed: Rob McKittrick
Leads: Ryan Reynolds, Justin Long, Anna Faris and more.

A movie on the life of waiters... It's hilarious!

It's got great humorous punchlines and it will make you laugh your ass off, literally. The humor is crude and raunchy, so it's a teen movie. But it's got good direction and a few touching dramatic sequences too. After watching this movie, I always keep generous tips wherever I dine. And I bet you will too.

There is no one that won't say that they didn't enjoy this movie.
